The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry programmee will prepare students for professional work in Chemistry and other related fields as well as prepare students for graduate studies in Chemistry. Furthermore, students will have unique opportunities to participate in research projects allowing them to gain experience in teamwork aimed at solving challenging problems. Apart from teaching essential lab skills, research-based learning will prepare students for graduate programme and/or employment in industry or academia by developing critical thinking, independence in planning and conducting of experiments and analyzing experimental data. Student will have the opportunity to critically challenge existing knowledge and develop new knowledge in performing laboratory functions.
The general minimum University of Lunsar admission requirements for an undergraduate degree programme is FIVE (5) Credits at the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) including Mathematics and English Language with a minimum grade of C6 in not more than two sittings or TWO (2) Credits of “C” or better at the General Certificate of Education, Advanced level (GCE ‘A’ Level).
Applicants seeking to be admitted must also have a minimum grade of “C” in Chemistry and also a background from the science discipline. He/ she must have strong mathematical understanding. The department may also chose to determine departmental requirement for applicants to gain admissions into the programme.
